^^^ 38 & 40 - OK mostly true about MacOS on PC. Let's just say it's more common to run Windows on a Mac than vice-versa. You can order a Mac running Windows, but to my knowledge you can't order a PC running MacOS.

Either way, my vote is for the Mac.

Jail breaking your I phone (not that I would do it) is life changing.

It's only money, and if for education a tax right-off.

Hopefully not in my lifetime. LOL

I did think about financing it for her although. Just never know what happens as I have a few avenues I am pursuing.

My wife had to get a lone when we got that apple.

Rediculous. They don't hold value at all. I can justify it for a gun or vehicle but not a labtop.

My daughter bought her own Mac Air. Got financed thru apple too for a year I think...

Maybe they are running something similar. Sometimes Best Buy has 2-3 years 0% interest too around holidays (like today).

Open an Apple account card, and you get a year finance free.

what ever you may do keep an eye out for when they have clearance. last november i bought my macbook pro 13 inch, for $999 at best buy, which was a very good deal considering, it was like $1300 before that,. they normally have clearance when they come out with a new line of them. also check on apples website for refurbished items, they normally have decent prices on that stuff. also whatever you do just go with the basic, cheapest mac. thats what i have and thats all a college kid needs. mine is capable of plenty more then i need it for. buying anything more then the basic for your kid would just be a waste of $.....

If all you want is basic then the best bang for your buck is going to be with a Windows laptop. If you want the Mac experience you have to pay for it. "You get what you pay for." You could buy a cheap laptop and small tablet for the cost of 1 Mac Laptop, and still have some change left over for software.

Besides... a 13" screen is just too damn small when you can get 17" and up in a Windows machine.
