sounds like the noobs been messing it up!

It's still snow covered here with a few more inches of white stuff due this weekend. I'm itichin' to start my indoor seedlings but I must be patient.

I'm looking forward to see how the NumiCorn works out this coming growing season. I already have my garden reconfigured in my head. I have limited space so I need to plan.

- The existing garden will be for veggies only - peppers, beans, peas, tomatos, other(?).
- The herbs will be transplanted/relocated to their seperate home.
- NumiCorn and Sunflowers will find root in 5-10 gallon containers around the patio.

Just my thoughts at this time, I maintain the liberty to chage my mind as I see fit.

You can use the corn or sunflowers to make a shade for an early start on fall greens, plant strategicallyso the sun is blocked in the afternoons during the late summer, and you can have a running bean, that climbs up the cornstalks, they will complement each others root systems if nurtured properly, add an inoculant

Neither the corn or the beans will be hurt by growing near the other, and often you can find that certain plants help by being planted near other plants, by the same line of thinking, some plants don't do well near each other, ad some crops need to be rotated to avoid various problems, such as rot knot nematodes, and other problem pests/diseases.

I do have some tobacco seed as well (Connecticut Broadleaf, and Kelley Burley), if I grow any tobacco, it will not be from seed, I will order my plants from New Hope Seeds, just like last year, decent price,not cheap, and very hardy plants.



Sorry about the red okra folks, once I checked, I barely have enough to have another "build up" year for seeds after my drought, and the deer eating almost all of the foliage. (planted too far from the house!).............I've found a new heirloom variety that looks more like what I grew as a kid, so here's to hoping it goes well.

If all goes well, I will have plenty of red okra to share after this year's growing season.

good year, and it can get 8-10 ft tall in fertile soil!

I get tomatoes every bit of 8 feet but generally don't do a lot of corn, soon enough it will be time to get some peas n greens going

I'm going to try to garden at the new casa this year unless work travel and critters get in the way, sign me back up. I think I sent you my addy, but if not can PM it when the time comes to get some numi-seed.
