Ray, it is lined with cedar, and I do have a 100 ct. desktop, thats a good idea you and tuck suggested since that desktop is just holding random cigars. Will take a little thought and organizational skills though. Hope I remember all this in the morning...............

Lefty if you're using HF beads remember they absorb excess as well.......I use Floral beads for mass humidity so I didn't have to buy 5 lbs of HF. You could also use kitty litter for the same thing too.

From the looks of how many that "humidor" can hold, a lot more still equals LOW.

Dave, I have to water my 3lbs weekly in the tower and I only use 1 fan. Course the humidity up here is damn near 0. Get a good Hygrometer if'n you don't already and do what it takes to keep the rh where you want it. I find my smokes smoke better up here around 65%.

Stay out of this noob, I will be low after I take care of your arse, lol,

You guys remember exactly how to calibrate the hygro. I think its a baggie and some salt and water, whats it supposed to read after its been in the bag a while?

Lefty,

I only open that big 'ol thing of mine about twice a week and most times less. What I do is keep a 100 count desktop on my desk and put a variety of smokes in it that I think I will want to smoke. Most times I just pull out of that, only filling it again when needed or the opportunity arises to add water or something like that.

I am only adding water to the Moist-n-Aire (in the big humi) about once a month at most and my climate is always 35% to 55% rh.

Personally I think you may be better off lining the trunk with spanish cedar if you haven't already. After that, get yourself a desktop. The amount of beads seems about right.

+1 Ray!

Course if you get tired messing with desktops you could always use a small Coolerdor. Find that the desktops still require maintenance. Once you get the cooler calibrated well it just seems to go...

Baggie, bottle cap full of salt, moistened, not soaked. After a day or so it will be 75% RH in the bag, adjust your hygrometer accordingly.

I've used the Boveda bags to calibrate also, some people don't like them but I have always had good luck with them
