Xikhar double flame...can't remember the exact series, but been working great for five years. Only problem is the flame adjustment wheel came off.

Love the Xikar EXII. Large capacity and works great. Supposed to be soft flame but acts more like a torch. Just wish it had a fuel gauge. The Element is great for carrying. Dual torch, fuel gauge, and decent capacity.

I've got 4 Xikar lighters,3 need to be sent in for repair.I've got 4 Colibri Talon lighters($10 or less),2 in use over 6 months and 2 still in their boxes,by far the best lighter I've ever won.

love my xikar lighters for the simple fact of the warranty....you can walk into a xikar dealer and swap it out for a new one..no questions asked. exactly the reason the cutter i carry in my pocket is a xikar. or the ronson jets like the other guys said...cant be beat for $3.47 at walmart.

Ronson Jetlite

Amen brother. I gave a dozen of them out at an Xmas party SIX years ago and everyone is still using them. Wallyworld used to have them for $2...the last dozen I bought were $3.50 now at Wallyworld. Still the best deal going. And if/when they clog or burn themselves out, throw it away and buy another. I sent one to DHoppe as part of the noob trade - we'll see what he thinks.

been eyeballing these as well, also have a few cheapies and jetlites.

Also a Xikar scribe/pen type that I like, and I agree on the warranty, hard to beat.

Yeah I had one flight where I left one of my older colibris in my pocket and had to debate giving it up or pay $25 to ship it home. $25 TSA donation later, I still have my lighter. They will let you ship regulars and torches home, so just a heads up you do have an option, but it's not cheap.

Back on topic - I like having a tri-flame with a punch built in cause I almost never forget my lighter but always forget a cutter/punch. Xihars seem to have flatter areas where it's better to engrave on them, but thats just my take.

I'm not into bling lighters so it took me actually using a friend's Palio lighter to see how well designed the lighter is. They are very nice and I know that Marc will stand behind them with the lifetime warranty if they have issues.

Other than that, I just use bics or the #4179 & #1455 $2 torches from DealExtreme. I also have a Blazer PB-207, great lighter, but the damn chain hangs up on everything in my pockets. Actually prefer the DX 4179 over it. Besides those, I have a number of other lighters, all of which are just varying levels of crap so they never get used.

A big factor in lighter longevity is the quality of the fuel used. Cheaper fuel = more cloggage
