All I really smoke is oliva. As you can see I haven't ventured far. I know one thing for sure though. I'm not a big fan of "CUBANS"[/quote]

I was introduced to cigar smoking while downrange and was mainly smoking Cubans. Just like Nic or Dom Rep cigars, it all depends on the brand and line. Some are good, some bad, and some really, really good. Unless you smoked a bunch of different ones, I wouldn't write off the Cubans. Monte #2 is my favorite. A nice long smooth smoke!

The same with my dad. Like I said with the list I posted above.

I grew up around a military father who only ever smoked Montecristo or H. Upmann cigars along with the cheap **** he was given or sent.

I think the biggest problem I have with Cubans is that 99.9% of the time the ones I have smoked are probably knockoffs that people are getting when they go on the cruises or vacation. They may have the labels, but that doesn't mean ****.

You may just not like Cubans. Most do share a common flavor when they're new. In punta Cana, cigars cost more than they do here. They must be exported and shipped back to the DR. Unless you're going on a 6 hour car ride to santo Domingo and have a tour set up at Fuente, better take all the cigars you plan on smoking.
