Okay, so first of all I appreciate the gesture! Sending unsolicited RAOK is a great thing! A few pointers though...
1. In the absence of celo, it is always a good idea to cover uncovered cigars.
2. Cigars should never be left loose in a box, they should be packaged in some type of bubble wrap or other type of protection to prevent damage during shipping.
3. Before shipping, the box should essentially be "shake proof" (i.e. when you shake it, nothing should move inside the box).
Soooo....to answer your question...the steel rings from the Macanudo Vintage 1997s both ended up on one cigar and they ganged up on the other one. LUCKILY, if you saw my review, the cigar is a robust wrapper. It survived, but just barely!!!
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial was covered so it made it through just fine.
I will enjoy ALL THREE cigars very much, but I hope that you will learn a lesson on this for the future...one of us dodged a bullet here...I believe it was me!
