Jon,

A good friend of my just secured a deal for a new repair facility for his company (he's the MD of Asia/Pac) in Hangzhou China. Hangzhou is just outside of Shanghai and is a great place. I've been there a few times and hopefully will back again soon. I need to tour their construction site (I get invited to stuff like that, 'cause I'm a fun guy!)

Why should you care about the repair facility? He's building it for just over 22 million USD (compared to the cost of about 80 million USD had he chosen the USA), and he will employ 65-75 workers there. What will he repair there? Thrust reversers, valves, and actuation devices for the F-18 fighter and the Joint Strike Fighter. Just thought you'd like to know that. His workers will earn about $18000 USD per year for the top level engineers and around $6000 USD per year for repairman positions. The cute 105 pound secretaries with D-cup breasts and smile to die for will earn about $3000 per year.

Oh, here's the 2004 figures for the city.....gee, look at who buys more off of this place than any other country..........and look who their major investor is.......

I finally went to the site listed above...

Now most of those jokes were funny. Some I thought were just plain mean.

God does have a sense of humor. Someone else mentioned the Platypus... that's proof.

Git 'er done!

I don't consider the platypus a strange animal....just a curiousity from millions of years ago. I see it as a testament to evolution. The platypus is a mammal of only two that belong to it's order.

The platypus at one time was a reptile in the sea, and it never finished evolving. This is evident by it's lower than normal blood temperature (almost a cold blooded little fella), and it's egg laying nature. It is also the only venomous mammal (a further testament to it's reptile days). The platypus is currently evolving though. The females have lost their venomomous spikes (they had them less than 150 years ago, but now they are gone), and the males are losing their venom levels.

It's suspected that within 200 years, the egg laying will cease.

I see this as evolution in action......sort of like how the dodo lost it's ability to fly since it had no predators and was locked on an island (damn the dutch for bringing pigs to the island!)

You want to see some real curiosity? Learn to scuba dive and see what awaits you in the sea.....amazing stuff down there. Just swim with a cuttlefish for a while and you'll figure it out.
