Thanks, but remember most of us hate TSA more than the passengers do. We have different reasons, working there is no picnic. Sequester is taking a major toll, so get there early. TSA is on a mission to fire anyone with a disability. We've lost 2 people with MS, one they hired knowing he had MS. They fired a girl who couldn't lift 70 lbs by herself, even though we aren't allowed to lift more than 40 by ourselves. I know of 8 in our airport, 9 soon.

If that isn't bad enough, they're also firing a bunch of part-timers that are coming close to the end of their 2 year probation period. They're averaging 7 a week. Two girls were fired 2 days before their 2 year anniversary. Before 2 yrs, they can be fired for any reason. After, it gets really hard. They also get a raise after 2 years. So the lines are longer now. I heard on the news a few nights ago over 100 people missed their flights waiting in line. 2 hours early for a domestic flight is safe. 3 hours for international.

I don't even remember what the bomb guys are called now. The last one I remember is BAO, Bomb Appraisal Officer. They get paid.

I thought we had it bad here in BOS; where are you? Our FSD staff seems to be on the hunt for anything and everything. Wrong color undershirt, LOR. Punch out 30 seconds early, 1 day suspension. I've personally been AWOL'd for jury duty, military leave and workers comp related doctors appointments that were pre-approved.....

The BAO's are now TSS-E's.

I'm at SEA. TSS-E, that's right. They change so freaking much! I wasn't going to say, but I'll be the 9th person I know of. They're going to fire me for being a disabled vet. I was told it was nation wide, so your crips aren't being fired? Shirts for us depend on who's wearing them. If they're in the good ol boys network, they're ok. If not...toast.

In this state, we also pay for the education of kids in other countries through online classes. We pay the teachers.

Update - Tried new tactic with lighters on four trips last couple weeks; plastic torches. Two thumbs up. One Vertigo Impact and one 'Carbon Fiber' - both from here at $3. One each in different carry on bags - laptop bag and backpack. Sailed right through every time. I suspect the plastic is less defined on the scanner than a Ronson.

Got through security this morning with matches in the backpack. Of course, my plane is on a ground delay due to the huge storm backing everyone up at DFW. So we "de-boarded and are hanging out in the gate. If you're in Terminal two, San Diego, come on by, no idea when we're getting out of here.

If you're gonna get stuck, get stuck at DEN. But, getting tough there, too. Last time through, they were down to one smoking bar. You can still smoke at ATL, but those tiny cages filled with with cigarette smokers aren't all too pleasant.

After getting delayed in SD, still had two hours in DFW. Of course, my bag wanted to stay there overnight. Herf-a-dor and new corn cob with one bowl burned through it are in it, so if they don't make it soon I may resort to convenience store/Wal-mart smokes soon. Anybody near FT Polk and know of a cigar place in lovely Leesville LA?

That's what I get for flying on "Ride your Bike to Work" Day. SMH
