Great thread! I'm tired of spending so much on humidors that I outgrow quickly, so I'm gonna try a coolidor or small fridge. Wld love to find less expensive beads but can't find any "roasterdude" member or threads. How can I buy from him? Thanks!

Solution Empty the mold making foam out of the Hydra and fill it back up with beads use beads almost fool proof since I started using them.

I'm not going to rehash the argument but won't be using KL.

I luv these threads!! I've been using KL for 4 months and no ill effects whatsoever. Dont get me wrong if I were made of money I would buy the 2-3lbs of beads I would require but for now my cooler is at 64% and no real fluctuations at all. KL has done good by me so far!

If I cant get bulk pricing on my proposed 50lb order to heartfelt, I was going to suggest exquisicat crystals... if theres no bulk buys, illi may consider switching to KL

If you put out a thread of purchasing the heartfelt beads, mnaybe enuff folks will get in and we can all safe some money from just buying a few pounds. I will get in for at least 2 pounds if not more.

I too have been using ExquisiCat Crystals for a couple years already with NO concerns. In my Verona I have a CigarOasis w/ large humidifier ( filled with crystals NOT foam ) in the bottom along w/ three glass containers also filled with crystals and a " battery fan " in each compartment to move some air around.....seems to work quite well for me.

YMMV

If you are going to live somewhere that can get humid, you absolutely need to use beads. Personally, not a fan of the KL. Heartfelt is your friend. Ya, a bit pricey but worth the price. Use 65%. A hydra will not absorb moisture in humid situation. The beads will.

I use a Moist-n-Aire in my humi along with beads as a buffer and only 1 additional fan. Works fine but keep in mind that a humid day here in Cali is 50%.
