Since the pass is winding down - i.e., done - I realized one thing is still left to do: the review! CS gave me stick #1, which I fired up last night. On the cold draw, I get some barnyard/hay, and a scent reminiscent of the old CT sun grown dark cigars my grandfather used to smoke - and got me started, by the way, the Stremmies & Toppers; but the wrapper is medium brown, and not black. The roll is pretty firm, though not without some give. On lighting, I get a little pepper and something I can only describe as - wait for it - tobacco! It's a pleasant taste, not at all overpowering. The smoke is a bit harsh, but taking it slow & easy seems to be he solution. Not much change as I get to the middle third, though I'm getting a sweetness to the smoke I hadn't noticed before. The hay aroma returns, though thankfully not the barnyard! Moving into the final third I get a little charcoal - tar buildup, maybe? Tobacco flavor gets stronger as well, and sweetness is gone. I do believe this is as far as I want to smoke it, as I suspect it's on its way downhill from here. Would I smoke one again? Probably, if I'm in the mood for something mild - medium. Would I buy one? Depends on the price - I'd say maybe $5 tops, but then again, I'm frugal!
Thanks again for the pass, CS!
