Sad to say but coaching jobs aren't what they used to be, he's gone in 4. Start grooming a new head coach that is a good assistant coach now.

Jim wants the nfl superbowl ring.

I'm not so sure that's true. He's had a stint in the NFL, and could have written his ticket in the off season.(control of players and all). There is something to be said for being a legend in college sports, and quite a bit of prestige. If he can get some success early and begin to build, he will have his shot at a national championship in a couple of years. win one of those and he could get things rollong and be a "Saban" of the north. I think he really knows football, and he's gonna be able to get some talent. Just gonna have to play hellacious non conference to make up for being in B1G.

He's a good football coach, but seems to be a bit anti-social, an oddball type who wears people out. May be better suited for college where players are there for 4 years only. Hope the Michigan administration can live with him.

I am not sure Harbaugh is going to get it done better then Urban Meyer and Meyer has a couple year head start on him in the recruiting department. This is a stop gap imo for Harbaugh in 3-4 maybe 5 at most he will be itching to get back into the NFL. Sure college coaches can be treated like legends but Super Bowl winning coaches are legends.

I know what you are saying, but Meyer has a shot yet this year. May not feel like a strong shot, but he's in the game. Head start in recruiting won't matter. Each year is pretty close to a fresh start anyway in football recruiting.


Only time will tell. My gut says if Harbaugh was that hung up on Superbowl ring, he'd found a place in the NFL. Plenty of opportunities out there, and some have the resources to become contenders.
