BTW, Adam, you're killing me... haven't laughed that hard in a while.

The way CBD used to be before it got f'd up.
I'm pretty sure that the POTUS is not playing on a military course.
But we agree, he is a ******!

Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course is a Marine Corp course and I did not catch that in the original article and when Jet pointed it out. Guess attention to detail is in order.

Plus the whole he didn't know thing combined with he whole any Prez can't go anywhere or do anything without inconvieniencing someone. How many people have missed important events due to motorcades and outings by all Presidents? I almost pooped my pants after a high fiber breakfast and a GWB visit to KC, and I missed lunch at Aurtur Bryants (no great loss) for the same reason. Of course there is also the unnecessary apology that was apparantly more than accepted.
Throwing out all those details, I agree with the subject of the OP.
Moral of the story, anytime you reserve a military venue for a personal event you run the risk of the chain of command or events bumping you and had better have a plan B. Apparantly these folks did, executed it and recieved an apology from the leader of the free world all while taking comfort in the fact that a bunch of dumb asses in a discount cigar forum are outraged on their behalf therefor they need not be.
If this had been Bush, the same thing would have happen but then we wouldn't have seen this post. X
Bush would have cancelled his game, attended the wedding & gave a toast at the reception.
BIG Difference.
Naw ...

You're seriously missing the "not informed" part jet. How would your fantasy of Bush have even occurred? Even assuming that you're correct and he gave a rats ass about anything other than himself, how would Bush have known to go to the wedding to give a reception? When you're not informed, you don't have the option to make a selfish or non-selfish decision.
Not a single person has provided a compelling reason for the golf course to have even informed the POTUS's people of the cancelled wedding (why would they? If you're intending to cancel a wedding to let someone play golf, do you tell them that? No, you don't. Because 1 - that is a weak, cowardly way to shift the guilt for something you've done, 2 - It's simply rude... it's a "hey, I'm giving you this thing, but I'm going to reduce your enjoyment of it by informing you specifically of the suffering your enjoyment is causing")... You don't tell a woman about the human rights violations involved in diamond mining when you buy her jewelry.
I'm guessing that MSNBC didn't report that W gave up playing golf during his tenure while the troops were deployed.
Wow. What a sacrifice.
I've never seen such selflessness.
Gave up golf? How did he manage to survive the hardship?
That's almost as much selflessness as going to go fight the war itself....
Who gets married on a GOLF COURSE???? No churches or attractive beaches or parks or wedding halls or country clubs in Hawaii...the only lawn available is on the golf course?

Bush went fishing right after Katrina.
