Not matter what, do not have butt sex with the Bandido Biker Club all at once, until your back is better

Agree with much above:

1. See your doctor. Very important to know if injury, degrading discs, etc

2. Exercises. Strengthening your core will help no matter what shape your back is in.

3. Weight control important. If you're carrying extra weight, it will negatively affect your back.

4. Physical therapy may be helpful.

5. Narcotics last resort...mmmmkay?

6. I advice against chiropractors, though there are some who will disagree.

and 7....over a year ago, I'd have never thought I'd be typing this....consider acupuncture as part of your pain control. My wife has a degenerative disc disease and a long history of terrible back pain. Recent acupuncture treatment has been incredibly successful...much more than any chiropractor ever was.

Jack, do you get the needles that are removed at end of session? My wife gets auriculotherapy and the needles stay in her ears for days. Crazy, but no questioning that it works.

Some good advice and some questionable. Find a good doc because you need to know what kind of condition you are dealing with. Get fit if you can. Many problems are caused or made worse by our lifestyles.

Been living with mine for about 52 years now. Good luck.

Mine come out at the end ,, I'll ask my Doc next time he has Medical Degree too and it's amazing hat those needles can do when they put them in your ears.. I have Degenerative Disc disease too ( I think technically they call it Spondylolisthesis. )..

I know i was getting hooked on a medication one time and he gave me 1 treatment with needles in my ears and the next day i was off the meds..

And don't get me wrong a Doc should do images and see if he can see the problem but in my experience and that of many others their treatments are a dead end of drugs and failures because they treat symptoms rather than causes.. You'll notice nowadays many Docs have Alternative treatment Docs in house because if they can make money on it then it's okay..

Kick yourself in the face, take tons of drugs, isolate yourself as much as possible, doubt everything and everyone, and please no trusting heart.

Maybe this will give you some mental health problems and then you can call

Ha! I'll call anyway. I teach grades 6-12 everyday and you wonder about my mental state? Does that sound sane to you? (LOL)

Very sorry to hear about the Fibromyalgia - that's rough, Jack. Tried acupuncture once or twice a couple of years ago, was good for the knee, but stopped when my insurance quit kicking in anything.

Will do. Thanks. Sorry to hear about your wife - that's got to be really painful. Would like to try acupuncture again, if insurance starts helping again. The auriculotherapy thing didn't do much for me, however. Funny thing is that my chiropractor does all three treatments!

#3 - working on it,

#5 - definitely a last resort.

Not matter what, do what you can to stay away from OxyContin. Took me a year to get weened off that stuff. It's pure farking evil and should be removed from the market.

That's what I've heard, Jade. (My brother works in the medical profession.) Glad you beat it - some don't, from what I've heard. Personally, not a big Vicodin fan for the same reason. (Four surgeries with the same prescription - glad to be off of them. It took a while. Know what you mean, bro.)
