Now I'm curious.

Who has had or heard of pimento and cheese sandwiches?

I thought they were one in the same. I also call it pimento cheese. I added the "and" to attempt to sound less redneck.

I've certainly heard of that Southern delicacy! There are a couple of Southern-cooking inspired restaurants in the area that offer it and the write-ups I've seen have recommended it be tried

I never realized that pimento cheese was a Southern thing. But I try to avoid leaving the South that often.

The pimento cheese sandwich is the sandwich of choice at the Master's tournament. I would not worry about the redneck thing to much.

Is pimento cheese like pepper jack cheese? A white/jack cheese with pieces of chopped pimiento (pickled red peppers) blended in?

I dunno, but except for grilled cheese sammiches, every cheese sammich I've eaten left me feeling that something was missing...

...other exception is hog head cheese...yummmmmm

Delta. You're close but its not the same.

Here's my recipe.

Shred sharp cheddar. Store bought shred just isn't the same.

A jar of pimento

Miracle whip

Salt

Cayenne

Mix it all up.

And Jade is correct. It's also good heated.

And I've had one at the masters. Not nearly as good as mine.
