BTW, if I were buying today, I'd probably go with the battery units. At the time I switched over, the battery technology was expensive and not that good.

Yup. I've got 400' of frontage ditch too steep to mow, have to use a trimmer. Considering weight, vibration, and most of all - noise, I'd consider Li-Ion for my next one. Though, my Echo has been perfect for 6 years now with nothing more than some stabil and high quality synthetic 2T oil.

There is one alternative for really large yards with a lot of fence line, corded electric trimmers run from a generator in a trailer pulled by a small tractor. The larger units have gobs of power and are lighter because you are not constantly moving the battery pack. One of sons has a huge yard with a lot of shrubery that also need to be trimmed. The electric trimmers are much lighter than gas powered units. The less weight you move around, the less work you do to accomplish the same job.

Pedro would easily be 200/week for my yard. I don't have that kind of money.

That's kinda where I was going...buying low quality items will give you a season...maybe...buy industrial or commercial grade...last a lifetime.

of course you have to do PM's and be handy with a wrench or two.

Just can't imagine a battery anything having the ass to do more that some suburbanite average little yard. 5 acres? Oh hell no!

Don't like the price of new? Check CL for a week or two and reward yourself!

I like the Worx 32 volt because it is a good combo of life and still real light and has wheels if you get tired. plus it has the best and easiest line loading i ever saw with pop in spools . if you buy on their site you get a 15% off1st timer discount , a second battery (worth 69.00) ,six free spools of line and free spools of line for life. With freight and tax it came in at 149..The batteries last 50 minutes or so and charge in 2 hours. So with 2 batteries you can go 110 minutes .It also works as an edger and a trimmer mower with quick height adjustment.

It is available in very few places in CA. None near me that aren't expensive racing fuels... which sucks.

I would rather use that.

I think B.J.'s wholesale club has a special coupon on those this month?

Or a clipless coupon...

You get to choose out of three,

Trimmer

Blower

And something else...

Was $189.00

Now $40.00 off

Down to $149.00 , I think?

Completely blew the call on this one.

Did not realize that the deal on the WORX website had TWO batteries.

Purchased the unit, (1 battery), and 6 extra spools from Amazon .

For $15 more I could have gotten the 2nd battery and spools for life. 🤦

The 2nd battery would REALLY have come in handy . . . I only got about 30 minutes run time yesterday, and it took over 3 hours to charge it back to full. 🤬

I just bought an electric trimer and it had a government coupon in the box when I opened it. The wind wind turbine is being installed in my back yard next week.
