In a manner of speaking. But
moderation is the key.
Never, ever knock someone for being concerned about their diet or weight. Even on a cigar forum. So no points for you Vic! 😳
My wife uses a calorie-counting app on her iPhone synced with her FitBit. As a result of her weight loss she has been able to significantly reduce/almost eliminate her high-blood pressure medication.
Drop the processed (white) sugar, and as much salt as possible. No boxed/canned foods. Exercise is also key. Walk, ride a bike. Do some push-ups and sit-ups to get the blood and endorphins moving before breakfast. Also consider using an exercise ball, even for replacing your office chair at your desk for a couple hours, to build/tone your core. And as Wheel always said, drinks lots of water.
Consult your doctor before changing your regimen. Also consider asking your doc for a monthly B12 shot to help keep your energy up during your diet/calorie change. A high-quality protein mix works wonders during those "crash hours" between 2-4pm at work. Say NO to energy drinks - they're usually full of sugar!
A tip for those whose wife's wear the FitBit: When she's on top, the "exercise" registers on her FitBit as stair-steps or squats depending on her position. I don't wear a FitBit, but I do what I can to help.
