10K?? LOL little light arn't we on the figures? we had 6200 personel on one base in Kuwait in 2002... when I deployed in 2000 to Saudi that base was packing a simple figure of 5000+ another single base at that time...then another tour in 1997 we had some 3600 personel on a single base in Kuwait... this didn't include the count of heads on the 3 other remaining air bases nor any army bases in Kuwait alone? did not count for the other bases in Saudi either?? and then we had the bases in Turkey, Jordan, Qutar, Egypt, and then how many personel are in one Carrier Group? because since 1991 GW there has been at least one Carrier Group and sometime two assigned strikly for OSW missions to babysit Saddam... I think AC Carriers hold some 5K people alone? then how many personel on the support ships? then we get back to the paper pushers who were tasked with Orders to support OSW but did not deploy to the general area and were stationed in places like Germany, England, Spain, Newfundland, Iceland, Ireland, lets just give them a round figure of 3K (lightly)

General Jumper had made comments that at any given time for Operations Northen and Southern Watch there were 80K+ personel involved X 12 yrs... and then the costs of maintaining the equipment?

Now when the dust settles and Iraq becomes more stable.. we will have established bases in that region... Just as we have in Korea, Japan, Germany...

Please let us know what the total costs were for the 12+ yrs of Operation Babysit, as that was the question that keeps getting diverted...

Enjoy!!
