If you were asking about the magnet thing, I'm pretty sure my friend's version runs on a propane tank like a gas grill. But he leaves his on all the time from late Spring, not just when going outside.
The idea is to kill and clear the whole area of them bloodsuckers.

The fuel for the themacell is expensive you can get on ebay and buy the conair refills for a curling iron and it is the same thing that's what I did this year they give you plenty of the blue strips when you buy one but not enough butane so you end wit a **** load of the strips and not enough butane

I have the one you can carry and I think alot of the problem is when you cut it off it don't cut off the butane so I have started unscrewing the bottle ever night it has made a difference in the amount of butane we are using just a heads up some don't cut off like they should which means more money for thermacell

My outdoor smoking space has a finite window of use.

When it get's warm/humid and the skeeters come out, to ward them off I head in to my temp. controlled smoke room, where it's most always a balmy 63* and 50% RH or less.

Or when it rains, or snows, or when I don't want to look at or listen to my idiot white trash hillbilly neighbors. It sure is nice to be able to retreat to the solitude and enjoy a cigar.
