since I have a surname that includes EIN, STYN is correct 98.2% of the time.
ei in German is virtually always pronounced aye, can't speak for all Teutonic languages, don't even know others.
ie is almost always pronounced ee, as in Friedman.
many who came here from there years ago have changed pronunciation, some say stuff like Finesteen. But they are incorrect, though they are allowed to do what they want with their own names.
