Took a week but my mind is nice and clean now...

Anyone a fan of absinthe? Considering going to an absinthe bar... Haven't had a drink in a few years, if I'm gonna get buzzed I wanna fancy buzz...

Real absinthe... With the thuone in it, is a bit of a different buzz... But you really have to drink a ton to get any effect beyond just alcohol.

I don't believe any absinthe sold in us bars will have thuone however.

Really? I didn't look into it but assumed when I saw that there was an absinthe bar that laws had changed in the U.S.... Lame...

They may have.
But in early 2000s some manufacturers developed absinthe without the wormwood....

I haven't looked into it in a long time, so I'm not sure if the laws changed or if the non wormwood absinthe just became more popular

... correction.... I believe it is still made with wormwood, just a species of wormwood which does not have thuone.

You can buy the real stuff online. It isn't illegal to have shipped to the states. Just (last I recall) illegal to sell as a consumable.

I think it's generally accepted that absinthe has so much damn alcohol in it that you can't drink enough to get the thujone required for any hallucinogenic affect without being so obliterated you wouldn't notices.
