I heard that when the magnetic poles flip, hamsters will be the only creatures to survive.

^ that article was from 2006...

here's a more recent study, that draws different conclusions:

Thanks Al. I read through that study but not once did I find it to say they HAVE INCREASED. Many times it stated they are expected to increase or the models predict an increase or it is likely that they will increase. That is certainly likely given that warmer water is proven to increase intensity and the oceans are warming.

I wouldn't be comfortable saying they have increased.

If you look at the actual data over time, there's enough variation year to year that it's statistically feasible to see what looks like an increase over a 5or 10 year time that's just standard variation.

They may have. The currently understood science would indicate they have. But I didn't see any data saying with confidence that they have .

All the more reason to argue about it

From what I've read, it appears any short term bump is statistically insignificant.

I have read very little, however, regarding the intensity.

Conservative sites poo-poo it.
Liberal sites "confirm" it.
And the MSM just assumes it.

Back to the OP.

A few days ago, one of Cortez's advisors where on Carlton Tucker's show (I saw it on YouTube as I don't watch Fox). He made the claim that the fact sheet that she had posted on her web site for over a day, had actually been a hoax put out by Republicans. Then in one interview, Cortez stated that her plan would require massive government intervention. 6 hours later in another interview, she claimed that government would have little involvement in the plan and that private investment would drive it. You can't make this stuff up.

I'm pretty sure no one who has supported trumpenfeurher and his ridiculous inconsistencies has a leg to stand on when complaining about inconsistent statements from any other politician.

And that includes you David.

Edited to add: Oh crap, did I just assume your pronoun? My sincere apologies.

In truth, I don't agree with this at all... And it's not supported by data... The world has a ton of unused real estate and a ton of uneaten animals...

If anything, the problem is los Angeles, new York, San Francisco... People living on top of people on top of people on top of people...

The sheer number of people overwhelm local resources forcing them to steal things - like water - from other parts of the state, putting the unnecessary burden of things like droughts on innocent citizens...

These cities produce far more waste than they can store, far more people than they can feed, and far more traffic than they can accommodate...

The planet is fine... Big cities are not...
