It’s not bad to be on the take. Everyone is.

Great game. Impressive champs.

I wanted GS to win tonight, forcing a game 7, but alas...

What does The Town mean on the GS jerseys?

Toronto's slogan "We the north" makes English teachers shudder.

I half expected GS to have We Iz South or something equally inane.

Golden State's run is over... who is up next?

KD - torn achilles.

Klay Thompson - torn ACL.

Next year was gonna be different for them anyway they looked at it.

they'll still sign Thompson, Durant is officially a mercenary now.

so the Raptors did it without the modern model of a Big 3...they had a #1 but the other roles were filled by a few changeable parts.
Wonder if, now that sports teams all copy the latest trend, this will affect free agent signings and trades in the near future.

seems worth it to get a great one-year payer like Leonard if you win a title...then start all over. But at least you got that title.

Kinda makes Jordan look like a loser, eh? I mean... Kawhi did it with no other star... Jordan needed Pippen, Magic needed Kareem, Bird needed McHale... Lebron needed D-Wade and Kyrie...

I kid, I kid.

all sports change over time, some changes are subtle, others obvious.
Hoops had the 3 point shot by the time Bird hit the league but it wasn't option #1 then, and centers and power forwards mostly played with their backs to the basket in the low post, etc. etc.

today, 7 footers have to be able to be 3 point threats, the 3 is often taken within 10 seconds of a possession, the lane has opened as a result, hard fouls are frowned upon, etc. etc.

Always difficult to compare eras in light of style changes and rule changes...I have always believed that the stars of the 60's would be stars today if born in this era.

Imagine how many points Havlicek would have had if he played with the 3 pointer.

Playoffs were good this year. I usually had the games on while doing something else, watched quite a bit of them.

You're right, different eras... but Jordan though, ... was leaning towards Lebron as GOAT... but I still think he has to earn it by winning one in the west.

Lebron did carry that squad to the finals last year though... that was a pretty big accomplishment.

Reggie Miller would terrorize everyone with modern rules though.

Eh, Warriors were an ICU.
They were waaay more banged up than reported.
That’s what happens when you make the finals five years in a row, you’re playing way more games, AND, playoff basketball is a TOTALLY different game compared to regular season ball.
You’re playing the same team, at least 4 and often 6 or 7 times in a row. It’s soooo much more physically demanding.

KD goes down, Cousins goes down and barely comes back at maybe 70%, Thompson gets hurt then later goes down for good, Curry mangles his finger and still has gimpy ankle, Iguodala has back issues, Looney has fractured ribs and cartilidge in upper chest, etc.
Chit happens...

But if the Warriors were 100% healthy?
They smoke the Raptors in 5 games, maybe even a sweep.
