All I can think of is the Buddy Hackett bit about the elephant trunk for some reason, a prehensile **** would be super helpful. Lol

Best of luck and hope all goes well, Brother!

My wife had shoulder surgery last year and spent about six weeks sleeping sitting up, sounds like you might have a couple of weeks in a similar position!!

Just saw this post, Frankie.
You'll be fine.
Just eat some chicken soup and watch Emanne Beasha on YouTube.

rough night for sleep.
block did not wear off until 1:30 AM, but 9 hours later still a lot of numbness and pins & needles

ended up putting the sling back on and resting the whole arm on a pillow while trying to sleep on my back...might have maxed out at an hour at a time once or twice.

today should be the end of the significant pain though.

but I was able to figure out a way to cut, light, and smoke a cigar around 9 last night.
I'll pass on describing cutting it due to expected homophobic reaction, so suffice to say I gave it the Ol' Rex Ryan treatment...AKA foot in mouth method

I saw Def Leppard playing in the round in the Tacoma Dome back around 1988-89 or so. As you may know, their drummer Rick Allen only has one arm. Little matter of intoxication and rolling a Corvette, IIRC.

In the round is normally pretty awful, but DL did a nice job. Still, when a guitar solo is going and the drummer is sitting in the middle of the stage, it's not like he can just sneak away for a towel, smoke or whatever. I was actually pretty amazed at how adept he was at getting a pack of smokes out, setting it up and lighting it. IIRC, he used his foot for at least part of the task.

Here's hoping you never have to ask him how that works.
