Went and visited my buddy Dino this morning... First time I'd seen him since he had half a lung removed... He's doing good, thankful to be alive and cancer free, but still having a ton of nerve pain...

Im thankful he's alive, thankful to have a friend like him, and thankful I botched my in laws cheesecake and not his...

Got $250 in fancy beers safely transported to Indianapolis in a cooler with several towels for padding.

Made a stop on our way and bought stuff to make another pan of broccoli casserole once we got here.

The red beans n rice, I had enough beans left to make another. Cooking the rice now, and broccoli in the oven.

Crisis averted.

So Chinese take out for me for Thanksgiving, the wife is sick or the pregnancy is kicking her butt, so we are playing it safe and not going to her brothers house just in case she is sick. And we had to cancel with my mom for the same reason. Trying out a place I never tried before since there is nothing really open around here, and we didn't defrost anything to cook since we weren't planning on eating here and having leftovers for a few days.

Brother in law made a brined and injected smoked turkey. Fantastic and I'm not a big fan of Turkey.

Beer and bourbon flowing.

Daughter got a little worse this morning so she and my wife stayed home... Mom is sick so she stayed home... My dad took my son to my in laws and when I pulled up a few minutes later, son was being buckled back into my dad's car... Apparently shut his finger in the car door and didn't feel like sticking around in pain...

I got dressed up twice and never did see anyone other than my pops...

But sister in law banned garage smoking a few years ago and their patio heater broke two years ago so thanksgivings been smoke free lately.

Think a patio heater may be a good Christmas gift.
