Sorry to hear MAC , hopefully insurance carrier will be like Liberty Mutual, accident forgiven policy.

I got very little sleep last night, thinking about the wife's accident and my insurance going up... estimate to repair her car was $3861. New bumper, hood, paint, and labor putting everything back where it belongs.

It's driveable and they'll have the parts next Monday... so she'll get a rental car for a week or so when she drops it off.

I need a beer.

Some of those companies charge more premium on the front end, hoping you'll go accident free for long enough you end up paying for your own claim as you go. Then the insurance company looks like the good guy. Brilliant marketing.

Pops had his knee replaced today. All went well, talked to him on the phone tonight, He's already talking about a new CCW piece. LOL, must be going to do a run on Mom's sympathy card. Dude doesn't miss a trick. [LOL]

Huge sigh of relief there though. Going to pour a couple of fingers of bourbon when I get home and torch one up.

Awesome news! Sounds like someone I'd enjoy knowing! I hope he milks this for all he's worth in the sympathy department;-P I can see it in my head.... Does he also indulge in a good cigar?

Pops: "Hun could you make me a sammich?"
Mom: What? Make it yourself!
Pops: (points to knee as lower lip trembles)
Poof! Instant Sammich!

Dad's a good egg for sure. Mom's onto him though. He's probably got a week grace period tops. If he doesn't screw that up telling everybody how well he's doing. 😂

No, Dad's doesn't smoke or drink. Never has, not against it as he says, just never liked either. 🤔

Some Thursday Funnies.

A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband. Suddenly, her husband burst into the kitchen. 'Careful,' he said, 'CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my gosh! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my gosh! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful. CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them.. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the! Salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!'
The wife stared at him. 'What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?'
The husband calmly replied, 'I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving.'

I was dating this hottie MILF, but everytime she ate rice, smelt rice, hell even just around any rice starch,
Her throat would close up, she would need a steroid puffer. Then we went to an Indian buffet and she just dropped to the floor convulsing and needed an ambulance.
She was a Basmatic.

Little Johnny is sitting in the back of the anatomy class.
The teacher is pointing at a map of the body and telling the kids about what each part of the body does.
She points at the **** on the diagram and says,
“This is the ****. Every boy has one P Nuss and it is for–“
“Hey, teacher,” Little Johnny interrupts,
“that’s not right. My daddy has two P Nusses.”
The teacher shakes her head in confusion and says,
“Two P Nusses? What do you mean? That’s impossible!”
Little Johnny replies,

“No, it’s not! I’ve seen both of them. He has a little one for when he’s going pee-pee and a big one when he’s brushing Mommy’s teeth!”

A woman went to a dentist to have a tooth pulled and there was instant electricity between them, and they made love right there in his office. She came back week after week after week and they made love over and over and over again. Until one day, he told her they'd have to end the affair, as beautiful as it was, because she only had one tooth left.

Have a good one. 🍺

Got some boneless pork chops from Sam's Club. They're about 2" thick. I seasoned 2 of them with my homemade rub and 2 with salt, pepper and granulated garlic and vacuum sealed them. I've got them in a 148 degree water bath for 2 and a half hours and then I will pan sear them in an olive oil/butter mixture.

Asparagus on the side.... =p~

Hell yes, I like the sous vide.

I won't cook steak any other way now. Sous Vide that ribeye for 2 hours at 130 degrees and then sear it outside on my sear burner. Perfectly done every time with that nice crust from the sear.

This is my first time doing pork chops... wasn't too sure about temp. The video I watched recommended 145 and I was thinking closer to 160 for pork, but I figured I'd go 148 for the first try.

my only issue with the sous vide is the same issue I have with the keurig... if a plastic water bottle sits in a hot car, you're not supposed to drink it because the warmth leeches dioxin from the plastic... how is it then safe to cook in it or run hot water through it?
