I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find that our sobering cells were not bursting at the seams with drunk idiots.

There are some... but not as many as I expected.

Got the neighbors drunk. Had a good time. Welcome to 2020.

Weird not waking up in a sobering cell this year.

My favorite new year's morning was probably about 20 years ago... I was still bartending, we closed down at about 5 or 6 am new year's morning, sun was just coming up in a frigid WI January. I had just finished throwing some dude out the back door of the club because he wouldn't take the hint that he had to go home and the girl he was hitting on was actually waiting for me to get off...

Opened the side door of the club and the bar across the street was completely engulfed in flames. Fire trucks were all around... The street was completely iced over from the water....

Walked home, screwed around with the girl, then went downstairs for new year's day brunch at my neighbor's.

Fun times.... A little violence, a little fire and some sex. What else can one ask for?

Couldn't sleep worth a damn today. Bed at 10, up at 11, then slept from 1230-2.

Stayed in bed all day so maybe the rest counts for something.
