I can get along fine with Victor on subjects other than politics. Before I gave up on my "Homemade boveda" we had very constructive conversations about humidity levels in various salt solutions. The only reason I gave up is due to not being able to find a proper storage medium to put the salt solutions in. Boveda patents swear by thin layers of HDPE but I have multiple samples of thin HDPE and the only one that seems viable is a non-clear "frosted" version of the air pillows used in shipping. My hope was to pass on what I learned from my own testing but I do not want to encourage people to have open pools of salt water/sludge sitting in their humidor and likely ruining their cigars.

I was raised conservative and my parents were very active in various campaigns so I cannot escape the political bug but sometimes I wonder how much discussion could be done when politics are avoided. I don't have to tell any of you about my right-leaning bias.

Where I vehemently disagree with people in my party, which is more important because I disagree with the other party more by definition, is that the other party is evil, hates America and is the enemy. I can’t take that seriously and it end the conversation before it begins. I’m a Reagan Republican. Reagan didn’t believe that nonsense. Neither do I. I miss the days of political civility but the parties have been weaponized and the weak minded have complied. There are good smart people in both parties and probably smarter in neither lol.

I can respect those I disagree with on politics and most everything else with a few exceptions. This all or nothing crap may be the end of us. Or maybe not, most things recalibrate in time. It takes hitting bottom or a catalyst of some sort.
