I really don't miss Des Moines much.

Saw a post on fakebook from a teacher that's from my little hometown, but enjoys being a teacher for the Rez's. He spent a few years in SD, and then retired. Now, he's taken a job on the Rez in Montana!! He said it's actually warmer there than here in TN, today. Crazy weather. Just last week, he was having temps well below 0!!

It's changed a lot since I left in 99. I think its actually a decent "little" city. they've come a long way in 20 years. I hear they have running water now and several people even have the internets.

I'm going to try a brewery tonight... See whether this is a worthwhile city.

meh. I used to be in their mug club when they and the raccoon river brewery were about the only ones. I think there are some newer better ones now. You will find it ok, just ok. its in a cool old building though.... old hat factory I think
