Not changing history, we are changing perversion. The South wasn't America, they were the enemy. They lost. **** em. After the civil war the South again was America. We should no more have statues of Jefferson Davis than we should of Adolph Hitler. We should no more have military bases named after Robert E Lee than we should of Erwin Rommel. We should no more have schools named after Robert E Lee than we should of Erwin Rommel. The Confederacy was our enemy and lost. Nazi Germany was our enemy and lost. Both lost, **** em.

So, I guess civil war reenactments will be restricted to only the ones the north won... and anyone who dares to put on a Confederate uniform will be racist... 🤔

Not a racist - pay attention - they were traitors. These reenactment people need to find a better hobby- maybe something that does something good or is beneficial to society.

Best part about your comment is that so many people DO believe that there is more covid based on the results from increased testing.

Lots of military reenactments have our enemies. I'm cool with that.

It's funny.
People today, more than ever, want to erase history.
Tear down statues. Change holidays. Rename buildings, parks, bridges, roadways.

But those SAME people want to relive the slavery years. To blame the plight of today on what happened 5 generations ago.

History if funny. You can't pick and choose what you want it to be.
Yet here we are. Waiting for the social movement of the day to tell us what is right and wrong. What is acceptable or offensive.

Those participation trophies are really paying off.

I've said it before. Somewhere our education system has failed every person who thinks taking a statue down is "erasing history".

If you think there is "history" in a statue to commemorate a general (or whoever) placed nowhere near where anything significant happened, you are insulting every teacher who ever tried to teach you a modicum of history. If you think naming a bridge after someone and then renaming it is "changing history" then you're a fuxking moron.

Monuments, naming sh&t, that's not "history" that's commemoration. General Lee Highway isn't named that because it's where he drove his NASCAR car to the battle of Auntie Em. It's named that because someone at a significantly later date wanted to make a show of saying how much they loved the traitors of the civil war. It was probably named Stonecutter Drive before that, due to it historically being the street upon which the city's stonecutter industry was focused. But someone actually changed that to commemorate a failed traitor to make black people feel bad in the 1950s.

(note - I don't know or care if there is a General Lee highway, or what it used to be called)

This sh$t was all done well after the fact. There were no statues during the civil war. They were at war. All these commemorations were put up sometimes 100 years later. They are not history. This is literally no different than some group of neo-nazis putting up a statue to Himmler in 2040 and then whining about someone trying to erase history when people with sense finally take it down in 2090.

But this doesn't matter. You wrote it out. You've made a position known. You are now convinced that all statues are history themselves and should remain exactly where they are because otherwise there is absolutely no way that students could learn the important history about a general.... like what his mustache looked like and what date he died. No way at all.

many of the statues and memorials to the Confederacy were erected during times that blacks were not "shutting up and dribbling" and were meant to be belligerent symbols reminding blacks to stay in their places...
