^^ That's in the past, bud. And ya had to google it... nothing came to mind because none of that is true any more.

Everyone in this country is as free as anyone else (except criminals... they're locked up) to do or be or move or live wherever they want, and if they meet with any resistance there are laws on the books for them to take action.

I say . . . take ALL of the black people who hate white people, and ALL of the white people who hate black people, out to a wide open field somewhere in the midwest. Give them EACH a baseball bat ([ram27bat] ), and let them bang it out until there is only ONE color remaining, whether it is black or white. This would solve HALF the problem.

That would only leave another color of offended folks, add some blue to the white and black, hehe.

I want to know who erected a statue of tail? What's it commemorating?

And where's it located so I can go tear it down?

I'll ask you to do the same as I asked Al... give me examples of "systemic racism" in today's society?

If it’s systemic, then asking about today is irrelevant.

the criminal justice system's treatment of marijuana users: usage rates among blacks and whites are comparable: but the imprisonment rate and severity of sentences for blacks far outnumber that of whites...

I saw this firsthand in the police academy in 1987, before MJ was decriminalized in CA...tach officers from mostly white beach communities said they often don't cite those caught smoking MJ, maybe confiscate and FI, but no cite or arrest...contrast with tach officers from LAPD, who say MJ is a primary opening to go looking for more serious violations, but will be at least a cite and release or booking if you don't find anything else, boosts arrest numbers and clearance rate for crimes...

pretty sure you don't read/believe my posts in response...so here's some articles from more informed sources...

pretty sure you won't look at these either...but they are relatively short and easy reads

We're in the middle of protests due to how the police force tends to treat one race differently than another... thousands of people are literally discussing it right now. If what's been publicized in the past 4 weeks hasn't impacted his opinion, why bother?

Your first article shows employment statistics. It does nothing to show racism. In fact it shows we have black, white, hispanic and asian CEO's. The numbers don't show racism. That'd be like me saying the NFL is racist against whites because there are more black players. Dumb.

Your second article talks about history, not the present, and gives no concrete examples of systemic racism in today's society.

Your third article defines it and again gives no concrete examples of it.

Victor, I know you make it a point to inject your own thoughts into others' conversations... but I can answer for myself.

Here's a few things for you to consider, Al.

MACS, find information from legitimate sources. This pertains to anything and everything. Taking something from a place like utube lessens your argument. I am not meaning this as a negative toward you or what you believe in. And obviously this is just my opinion and observation.

What's a legitimate source, Spey? One that you prefer? Or that reinforces your ideals?

Does anyone seriously believe that any person in this country, regardless of their race, cannot become whatever they want if they put forth the effort?

And the world is better for it. It has been the same for asians and latinos too, even the Irish. For blacks the issue is further complicated by the history of slavery and the folks delighted to perpetuate the notion of waiting until someone in power delivers salvation, (For racism and to collect votes.) instead of bootstrapping themselves.

Here the problem is some people consider their feelings and opinions as fact and anything or anyone that conflicts with their feelings is to be vilified.
