Day 9 without a cigarette begins.... It's down to 1 cat, 2 gerbils and me. I've seen some stuff you can't unsee man. 2 cats slipped up and me and the gerbils were on them like a hot knife through butter. It wasn't until we'd eaten the second one that I remembered I could just order a pizza. Doesn't really matter now, we've all acquired a taste for raw kitty. The gerbils have me worried.

Such is life... It's odd. The first 4 days were easy. By day five the craving really kicked in. Then having to watch Zody light up an OR Opus X Phantom on day 7 almost broke me.

Mornin' dudes.

Dan's talking ice and the weather here is gonna be 95 today.

I'd love 95.

I like hot as long as it's not unbearably humid. Which, normally hot days around here are.

It was 34° when I left this morning. Already up to 44.

Got home and went downstairs to my computer and saw a line of water from the furnace to the floor drain. Looks like a seal on the condensate trap has failed. I don't have the time to take it apart, and it's too cold right now to risk breaking anything too. Sposeda be warmer as the week goes on, so I'll take it apart when I'm free and see if I can't fix it myself. I've had to call out the HVAC guy for stuff a couple times, it's always an inopportune time like in the middle of a work stretch or when I'm out of town and wife says chit's fuxked or it's -20° and it's not working and the house is 45°. Never less than $500 for him to show up, and that was when the thing was under warranty. I'm about 6 months out of the 10 year warranty now. Never seems to fail when I'm free and home.

It looks like there's an oiled felt seal at the back end of the condensate trap that failed. I'll try RTV like any good bubba homeowner DIY'er would and get criticized by an HVAC pro later. Buttfuggit, I don't want the leak shorting out the control board.

I’d take that. Trade you our current 51 targeting a best case scenario high of 61. Stupid Canadian cold fronts.

Today is National Do Something Nice Day

Somebody should send MACS an Opus.

Celtic - keep it going - you have a good start. When I gave cigs up for good it was a long haul, but rewarding.

It's now 69 degrees, I just hope it lasts for a while, last year we were robbed of our Fall weather, it went from hot to cold.

Installed two 8 foot Led shop lights in place of one 4 foot fluorescent fixture. I had two 4 foot lights and added two more over my reloading bench. WOW! Let there be light, what a difference

I've got two more 8 foot lamps that should arrive later this week, no more dark and dingy corners.
