The 392 does 0-60 in 4.5. Why. Just why.

Lease is spelled way, way wrong. It should be spelled FLEECE. Because they're shearing you from your money. A lease is NEVER a good idea.

I capitalized never for a reason. It is N E V E R a good idea. Never. Not fking ever. The dealer gets his money and then some. You get to rent a car for a short period of time.

I’m not bad mouthing and love power and speed but not in a tippable brick lol.

I’d just be in big trouble.

That’s an old misnomer MACS. Lease can absolutely be better than buying in the right situation and configuration. It won’t work for me for a few reasons like miles but if you build the model and run the numbers with the right lease you can come out way better.

My guess is rfenst will end up way better on lease than had he bought..... and he can buy it later at a much better deal than he otherwise would. A used car he knows all about. Winning. (This includes adding all expenditures for the entire time period under both models...buy vs lease)

Pffft. My Infiniti was a 3.7L 6 cyl and would have come very close to beating your 8 cyl in the quarter mile. If I dumped the back seat... and lost a little unsprung weight, I might have beat you. That's straight sad if you got 2 extra cylinders.

Your car sucks.

Simply not true MACS. Often repeated but simply not true. A lease is often a much better deal. My dad doesn’t believe it either but the math doesn’t lie.

New vs used has a lot of old wives tail myth to it as does lease vs buy. Pencil to paper is a better friend than proclamation in this case. Changing markets and such.

Caveat.... if you are financing at all. If you are paying cash the point is moot because there would be no lease option needed.

2 years after I bought it I could have sold my Honda Pilot to the dealer I bought it from for the same price I bought it for new. I got a smokin deal and it held its value. Not normal but nothing is castin stone. Very often new cars with incentives are a better deal than used of the same model. Pencil to paper.

You are right about pencil to paper. I started doing that 25 years ago, we had similar experiences with a couple of Volvo 940s and an XC-90s. Doubt they still hold their value the same since they now mass produce them.

You and Dave Ramsey and Chris Hogan wildly disagree. They're multi-millionaires.

I am VERY good with spelling, punctuation and grammar. I'm decent with math, up to and including algebra. MY math is the same as Dave and Chris. It's not a good idea in the VAST majority of cases. YMMV (your math may vary) if your math does vary... it's fuzzy math, George Bush.

It think you may not fully understand. If Dave Ramsey is proclaiming that to be always true about financing vs lease he is dead wrong. But I know enough about him to know that’s not what he is saying.

He doesn’t want folks to finance. He wants people to buy with cash outright. I’d agree that is the best route most of the time if you can. Most of the time, but there are situations where a lease could conceivably be better even then if you play the depreciation and other rate game well and intend to sell in a couple years. But that is few and far between.

By far most people finance and the real debate is lease vs buy when financing. And it is very debatable which is better for whom and the math does not lie. You really can’t proclaim one better and call leasing fleecing unless you really mean all financing is fleecing.

So no I don’t believe with other people you go to for these types of ideas. I just understand what they are really saying then use my own noggin to doing the math in my situation. Sometimes leasing is better than buying. Quite often actually. I’d really bet that is the case in rfenst situation. It’s never been the case for me however. I always pencil it out for me and end up buying.

I don't disagree with you, bro. Sometimes Dave is dead wrong, especially when it comes to math.

With his fuzzy math, it's better for me to pay off a car loan that costs me $1800 over the life of the loan, rather than paying down a mortgage loan which will save me $12,000 over the same time frame.

However... his advice on car loans/leases is solid. The vast majority of the time, a lease is fk'ing you.

Sorry I still disagree. The vast majority of the time leases are not **** you vs financing. It is really just another financing mechanism that can be better and often is.

Rarely if ever better than buying without financing which is Ramsey’s thing. I actually could pay cash for the wrangler but that freaks me out lol. I am in no way shape or form being intelligent when I’m even considering buying that damn wrangler I am a dumb ass at heart

I’m not a follower of Ramsey and think some of his advice isn’t always practical but it’s probably by and large solid. Nothing against him at all.

Wasn’t he in the “news” recently... seriously can’t remember but some sort of silly outrage against him?

Edit: oh now I remember lol
