https://www.locast.org/  I get 20-30 (?) local channels out of the greater Boston area. It costs about $5/month and you can use it on 4 (I think) devices/account.

I get all the local channels that are transmitted over the airwaves. It's "live" and the same thing you'd get over the air or cable including the commercials and you can't pause, rewind, or DVR anything. There's some lag between the streaming feed and the feed through a cable box but if you're not watching them side by side it's no biggie.

It's worth checking if you're looking to do away with cable.
