But but he was on the shoulders not the neck and flying cows farting caused him to get too much co2. You couldn’t see that in the video let alone the three tons of fentanyl they found in the cop car three days later. People need to quit believing in heir lyin eyes. Maybe the cop should have done more but he certainly didn’t kill him. *rolling eyes*

This is a travesty!

People actually believe this crap. Even his coworkers don’t believe it.

I actually agree with this, but you forgot your sarcasm emoji...

Not sure he ingested 3 times the lethal dose of fentanyl on purpose... but maybe he did because he did not want to get caught with it.

Pretty hard to convict a cop. Must have been pretty obvious.

But the facts repeated here would have been introduced by his attorney if they had any merit.
Though they did find some uningested pills in the patrol car 3 days later...

Many people also thought the Scopes trial reached the wrong verdict. Many people thought the Emmitt Till trial reached the correct verdict. Sometimes you get justice, sometimes you do not. This time justice was served. May George Floyd rest in peace. He was a man.

The jury had to go on facts as presented to them. You don't. You can go on what your news sources tell you are the facts. It was a fair trial as presumably his chances for appeal are.

It is incredibly difficult to convict a cop. If it is unfair in either direction it would be in the benefit of the police. We've seen that time and time again. And I am ok with that. I believe it is better to have 10 guilty folks walk then to have one innocent go to jail. And I would amplify that for the popo. It's a hard job and they need to make split decisions. They should get the benefit of the doubt but not the benefit of omerta and carte blanche to go rogue. They have more of a responsibility to act appropriately because of their authority. I know you don't believe that based on previous conversations.

The dude is guilty. And if I was a cop I wouldn't want him in my ranks, let alone defend the indefensible. Luckily some of his peers felt the same way. His support seems to be much stronger in this forum then amongst his peers.

He probably has grounds for appeal, Maxine Waters inflammatory rhetoric, and withheld exculpatory evidence. There is a blood toxicology report turned in so late the judge would not allow it as evidence. It might even be a mistrial. Robert could help out here.

And if so, so be it. It will play out. At some point the handwringing and claiming all institutions are rigged has to stop. It's too easy to sit back and claim crap with no factual basis.

It will be interesting over the next period of time to find out what the jury heard and knew and what they didn't. If waters comments didn't reach the jury there is no there there. If it did then let 'er rip. But to sit back and claim the jury somehow is dumber than yourself and you know how this SHOULD have gone is just silly. Especially if from the start you had an opinion and your factual analysis always seems to go towards the original opinion/agenda.

There are folks that said from the start this guy is guilty at best of dereliction of duty by omitting action rather than actively doing anything wrong and they have continued to try to find info that supports that theory rather than looking at the whole thing. Anyone drawing a different conclusion simply doesn't know what they are talking about and a jury drawing a different conclusion cettainly must be tainted or wrong...... or the original theory is biased and wrong but that cant be.

Waters' comment will not have any bearing if the jury was sequestered at the time, but have not heard of the comment. Those who were aware of the comments only have to say they were unaffected by Waters' comments and stuck solely to the facts from the trial. Defense needs to poll the jury, for post-verdict questioning, one by one, to protect the issue for appeal.

What specific questions do you have?

My experience of juries, including the one I was foreman of, is that their collective intelligence, wisdom and desire to do the job right is easily in the genius range and beyond- in almost any situation. Good people who take on a serious duty and give all they have to give.

FYI, if this were in Florida, I think he probably could have had a six-person, not 12-person, jury since the death penalty was off the table, so to speak.
