Finally got around to putting down the Bermuda seed today to get the summer lawn in place. Moved and spread about 400 pounds of topper soil/mulch on it and now the excessive watering begins. Should see some sprouts in a week to ten days. Fingers crossed.

I didn't know it could take the heat and low humidity...

Asked the boy if he wanted to go down to the lake and drown some worms. He said no. Asked brother in law, he said no.

That concludes this years fishing season for me.

Tried to install a backup camera on the truck. I've had the camera on a shelf for 7 years, never got around to installing it on anything.

Wires all ran, connected to reverse light circuit. The head unit switches to camera when I put the truck in reverse. The only connection to reverse circuit is at the camera, so it's getting a signal to switch over. But the screen says "no video signal".

Hoping it's just a bad cheap old camera, I ordered another camera. At least all the wires are ran, so it shouldn't take much.

Boy changed his mind. Now wants to go fishing. Paid my $20 license fee for my likely only trip out. Need to restring the poles and get some worms.

*TZ* my future is so bright I got to wear shades...how about you?

Sometimes a little put down helps them see, but constant criticism, just turns into a wave of the hand, on their part.

$20, eh? Mine was $70 for the US and $43 for Mexico, both annual.

I heard that if you want fish, you can buy it at grocery stores and fish markets. No license or boat needed.

No fun in that.

Tomorrow's trip got scratched. 10-15 knot winds with 5-7 foot swells. Noooooo bueno.

Fishing is a cleverly disguised excuse to hang out with the boys to drink and smoke. See also: playing cards, golf, pool, bowling, darts... None of the forementioned activities can be considered a sport. If you can do it while drinking and smoking, it is not a sport.

Pig wrapped in pig: it's what's for dinner. Pork loin roast wrapped in bacon, ~4 lbs of pig in the oven.

MACS what would the swells be like on a normal fishing day?

Depends, really. We'll go even if the swells are 3-4 feet, as long as the sets are spaced. Example of tomorrow's report:

Islas Coronado: Monday - NW winds 10-15 kt. Seas 5-7 feet in S to SW swell. Period 15 seconds. This means the swells are 15 seconds apart, which is great if they are small swells. 7 foot? Nope, nope, nope.

https://tinyurl.com/7sjp4e48  - on the right you'll see a picture of our route from SD Bay to the Islands. The wind will be blowing NW, the swells will be going S to SW. That's a recipe for a washing machine. If the swells were 1-2, 2-3, it'd be very doable. At 5-7 feet, that's a hard pass for a 22' boat.

Sister lives on the lake and has a kid my boy's age so we stopped over there and picked him and his sister up.

Went back to the public launch site and drowned 30 worms.

Boy caught one crappie

I caught a sunburn

Niece caught nothing

Nephew caught 23 bass doing nothing different than the rest of us.

Then we had ice cream. Dropped off my sisters kids.

Now I'm grilling brats.
