From a business perspective, wouldn’t you think manufacturers would embrace the smaller vitolas based upon the ability to roll more cigars (...and quicker...) because they use less tobacco? Especially when they have a limited edition, you’d want to increase the number of cigars to sell?

Or maybe not if you have crappy tobacco and just trying to sell them off as quickly as possible. [gonzo]

Lastly, is it just my imagination but whenever I read about people’s favorite vitola size, the vast majority will say smaller RG stogies and rarely ever Gordos or 56RG or greater. So who’s buying the behemoth jawbreakers? 🤔

Nick Perdomo told me that he would love to make more Coronas as they’re cheaper to make, but people don’t smoke them. I didn’t have anything nice to say so I didn’t. I think with the majority of manufacturing done with molds I think the production is more modular not using more vitolas. Look at Perdomo, how many vitolas are the exact same rg in the same line? Almost all.

Larger vitolas are also more popular with novice or recreational cigar smokers.

I believe it’s the path of least resistance.

some of the best cigars I've smoked were lanceros...the Trinidad Fundador is at the top of the list, followed closely by the My Father #4, the El Triunfador ghost stick and all three colors of the Illusione HL's...

but the Montecristo Edmundo at 52 RG robusto is another fave and along with a few others like Ashton VSG and ESG I could smoke those robusto sized cigars every time...

lotsa great coronas too...Cabaiguan, Warped La Colmena, LP Dirty Rat

great cigars come in all sizes and shapes....but as mentioned above, I prefer smaller RG, 50 or less, except for the exceptional 52 RG cigars

All depends on the blend.

The Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro Lancero was lame when compared to the Toro.

The Espinosa Laranja Reserva Lancero was great but didn't seem better than the Toro.

Same with the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Lancero. Excellent smoke but about =2 the Toro.

Although not a Lancero, but still on the thinner side, the Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill (7" x 48) tastes much better than the 54-ring Toro size.

The Oliva Serie 'V' Lancero also seems to lack good flavor when compared to the 52-Ring Churchill size.

I do think the My Father Habano No. 4 Lancero tastes better than the thicker ring sizes.

Have a Box of 18 of the Cain 'F' Lancero (7" x 38) coming next week. THAT should be great.

I personally like Torpedo/Belicoso/Figurado sizes best. 6" x 52 of bigger.
