Good morning. It's a great day to be alive! The passing of 2 great ones yesterday shook me a bit.

Off to FEDEX to drop off the extra sound bar Samsung sent me that I tried to cancel the order on, then to the lap pool and a stop at the grocery store before I get home in a couple hours. Later, on to the chiropractor.

MUST also go to Dillard's today to see Carolyn whose retiring while I'll be out of town. She's the lady who has been dressing me/selling me clothing at Dillard's for the last 25+ years. She first talked me into paying $55 on a shirt 20+ years ago, (which was a lot even for a real nice shirt back then (and I still regularly wear it!). She made her first sale-to-me with the closing line: "Come on! You know you are worth it!" LOL. 🇨🇮

Carolyn watched my kids grow up. One or both of them used to always come with me. I took my son to her too. My wife shopped for me with her and so did my mom. When I shopped alone with her, she didn't let me buy things she knew my wife would disapprove of.

I also represented her successfully for a terribly serious injury and helped her get in to the very best doctor in town for her particular injury, even though he doesn't see accident cases. He saved her hand. That's how I know her husband too. And, a couple of her adult children. Even met one of her grandchildren.

Her retirement is bittersweet to me. She won't be there anymore. But, she's worked retail men's clothing very hard without commission for 35+ years at the same job. At the same time, I also know she and her husband have a good amount of retirement savings (because she didn't piss away the money we got her like 98.2% of my other clients did). So, I wish her nothing but the very best. A hug and kiss on the cheek and I'll likely never see her again.

Finally, I get to pick my daughter up at the airport tonight. She is coming in to town to travel to FSU/Tallahassee tomorrow for my son's MBA graduation (with distinction- we are still waiting on his final grades today to see which award he receives).
