Met with my doc to go over all the results from my yearly visit. In his professional opinion "If a tree don't fall on me I'll live till I die".

Reminds me of a Paul Simon song...

Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

I know a man
He came from my hometown
He wore his passion for his woman
Like a thorny crown
He said, “Delores, I live in fear
My love for you’s so overpowering
I’m afraid that I will disappear”

Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

And, I know a woman
Became a wife
These are the very words she uses to describe her life
She said, “A good day
Ain’t got no rain”
She said, “A bad day’s when I lie in bed
And think of things that might have been”

Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

And I know a father
Who had a son
He longed to tell him all the reasons
For the things he’d done
He came a long way
Just to explain
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping
Then he turned around and headed home again

Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

God only knows
God makes his plan
The information’s unavailable
To the mortal man
We’re working our jobs
Collect our pay
Believe we’re gliding down the highway
When in fact we’re slip slidin’ away

Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

8.3 miles on the bike in a smoke advisory.

Probably damaged my health more than I helped it.

Smoke from where 8?

Funny how raising a seat, adding some air to the tires and shifting gears can move me from severe to moderate knee pain.

Dinner was perfect. Nice crunchy crust on the potato rostis, topped em with brie for me, sweet cream cheese for wife n boy. Scallions and fresh dill, topped that with smoked salmon glazed with maple syrup.

Wife and boy ate it AND didn't bitch about it.

See, if I went to the trouble of preparing a nice meal and it came out great and then someone complained?

Be the last meal they ever had that I cooked.

Last episode was on gun runner Eugene Hossefuss. The guy from Wisconsin who was caught up in Iran Contra scandal.

Wife told the kid a few years ago when she was leaving him home with me alone overnight for the first time "you don't have to eat your dad's yucky food"

They both bitch about damn near everything I make. Wont try most of it. I love cooking. At least when I'm catering at track events I'm appreciated.
