I'd like to thank those lab rats that were willing to help me with one of my class networking projects for this term.

I chose, as my project, to set up a media server to share with friends and family using Plex. So far It's working on my LAN, with desktop windows systems, smart TVs and Roku streaming devices. Pretty easy and straight forward

The next step was to get it connected to a few clients outside the LAN and, preferably, on multiple platforms. Took a little troubleshooting but the Zombie Celticbomber (still not sure if he's on his first death, second, or third) locked in on an Android platform, a neighbor locked in on his Mac, bgz on his (?) platform. I still have a few more that I'd like to connect with and see how it works on their end to stream movies, TV shows, music off of my little server I've got going.

Just wanted to tip my hat to the brothers out there that have been guinea pigs for this little project.

Happy Gridlife danm. Maybe in your second life you could run a food truck?

Was supposed to be in the mountains right now but plans changed. Mother Nature decided it has been too mild this summer so she is throwing in a whole bunch of 108-109 days just for kicks.

Good Thursday Morning! It's just 70° on the way to 86° cloudy and rain later today.

It's Breakfast & Bullets today with my shooting budy.

I could go for some Wiener Schnitzel right about now. My wife makes a great Jägerschnitzel and she’s not even a kraut.

I looked into it, had a friend with a short school bus he wanted to sell cheap at the same time my brother in law bought a foreclosed restaurant property to demolish so a lot of the parts to make it happen were available cheap.

But the logistics of doing it legitimately even if just for Gridlife events were too much.

I like the setup I've got. Just need to buy another camper. Trying to do it without an established loadout is a pain.

Failing as a Layabout today.

50 minutes dog walk
10 miles of biking.
Shucked six ears of sweet corn.
Watered the lawn.
Swept half the garage.
Burned all of the downed sticks in the fire pit.
Fed Marvin an almond.

Cottage cheese, a beef stick, breakfast bar and coffee for lunch.

Trying to keep my eyes open long enough to watch tv. Failure inevitable.

Me too. Didn't fall asleep until 2am because I swam laps hard yesterday at 5:00pm. Body didn't come to a nice rest until then. Got to drain the pool and clean the kitchen, then back to the couch or bed to watch some more tv.:-({|=

I started strong... 45 minutes on level 7/8 on the stairmaster. That damn near killed me...

Then dog park with the pupperoni to kick his soccer ball around.

Since around 10am we've been pretty good at the layabout. And since it's after noon... prolly time for a beer. It IS Thirsty Thursday afterall.

Got back from the range, saddled up the backpack blower. Cleaned the decks, our driveway, the cul-de-sac, and the neighbor's driveway. Not too many leaves yet, but they are starting to fall. Lots of rocks though, the dang deer have a knack for kicking gravel from the sides of the driveway and down the hill.
