Haven’t had much time do you check in. Been doing hospital shuffle. Wanted to say thanks for the well wishes and prayers. I’m not much for praying myself as I figure my God doesn’t know me anything but they are appreciated.

More tests today both spinal tap and MRI. So far it’s all in my head so yes it could be a Tomah!

GM sucks! I will never buy a GM product again in my life. I'm really sour on them.

Spent a week in MI at a GM plant (Dearborn, MI) to work with them on grinding stones and finishing stones for their transmissions. After the gears were cut, the grinding stones and finishing stones would finish them to tolerance. It was a cluster F to try to get answers and do any development for improvement.

While in the area we also dropped in on Detroit Diesel, again to do some product development. Work on improving the honing of engine block cylinders. Another cluster F.

The whole UAW thing was an impediment to get anything done, they just wanted to keep the status quo. Any intervention or process/product development was a hindrance.

In that lifetime, working on grinding, honing and finishing stones... Briggs & Stratton plant in S. Carolina was my favorite place to visit. They were open to collaborate for process improvement, the folks were super nice (southern hospitality) and I've fallen in love with good Carolina BBQ (vinegar based stuff).

Going through a Danm-like experience.

Refridge not working right again. Had to call for a service technician on Tuesday. Guy came out, confirmed that the temperatures weren’t right and diagnosed that the compressor was going bad. He didn’t have the part in his van but they had it in the warehouse. Earliest we could schedule the 3-hour repair was Thursday. Found out that for the LG brand that we have, the compressor is the most common repair issue. About a 3-year life expectancy. Our refridge is roughly 3-1/2 years old.

Anyway, another tech came out on Thursday morning to perform the repair. Took about 2-1/2 hours. Tech said to let the refridge stand for 24 hours before putting everything back in. Friday rolled around and we refilled it. Everything seemed fine. Ice-maker made ice again and the freezer kept the frozen stuff frozen. Then last night we pulled out some ice cream and noticed that it was a bit soft. Initially thought I left it out too long before scooping it but checked the other frozen items and they definitely didn’t feel frozen frozen.

Moved the bulk of the frozen items into our garage refridge. Told my wife to just let it sit and we’d see how things were in the morning.

Got up and unfortunately the freezer wasn’t any colder. Called the Sears Repair Center to place another repair request. Monday between 1 and 5 is the earliest.

Luckily we bought the extended warranty so nothing out of our pockets but man, sure is a PITA.

I got a Whirlpool double door type... freezer on one side, fridge on the other, ice and water dispensers...

21 years old. Replaced the solenoid on it 2 times. Still working.

When it sh-ts the bed, I'm just going to replace everything in the kitchen. Stove, fridge, dishwasher (which we never use) and microwave. Fuggit.

We bought a Samsung refrigerator several months ago. The ice-maker was causing all sorts of problems. Had the repair service out twice and they replaced it twice. Still had problems and when we checked it out, the problems were known. Finally had Samsung come out and they replaced the whole ice maker with a beefed up substitute and it solved the problem. Get LG involved directly. Just sayin'...

Two, soon to be 3 service calls in less than 4 years. Wife is already looking at a new refridge…but this time going back to an American brand (…even if they’re not really made by or in the USA…).
