Turns out I needed glasses. My hitting and fielding improved exponentially. I mean... like, I was terrible, and then holy crap, I was really good!
Wore the damn things for years. Couldn't do contacts. My eyes would dry out faster than a raindrop in the Sahara. Then got the PRK surgery in 1998. 24 years later and I can still see distance just fine. Can't see anything up close without reading glasses, though.
