61 headed to 85. Haven't slept well the last couple nights. Seems selling a house and moving across country is expensive and stressful.

Yeah sob, the hospital called a "code grey" tornado warning last night. As i was driving in I had the windows down, music cranked, and the sky kept getting darker as I drove north. By the time I parked and walked in it was nearly nighttime dark. I watched the crazy rolling spinny clouds from inside. I've never seen that without a funnel forming before last night. Tons of stuff blowing around but never even got rain in Munster. Another nurse said her husband got called in to work. He's supervisor for water drainage n stuff for Hammond so I assume they saw rain. I washed my truck before work and it's still clean n shiny.

85 and stupid humid when I walked outta work. Glasses fogged up completely as soon as i stepped outside. Heading for over 100 today. Heat index of 112 in the forecast.

Got home, showered, now in the garage in my recliner with a beer n cigar. Dripping sweat sitting still. The fan does nothing. Should've showered after.

Beats the hell outta winter tho. But the gnats are ruthless.

Finally getting real high speed internet at my house!!!

I've been on a 30mbps rural plan from Comcast. Rarely will I ever see speedtest results much over 6mbps. I've had a few in the teens. But comcast/xfinity speed test says much much higher, today it claimed 119mbps but speedtest.org said I was at 6.8mbps down 4 up with a hard stop on the speedometer. If I'm getting limits from network use it will fluctuate widely. But if not, it hits a point and stays pegged without variation. Also a pretty low data cap. I've regularly paid $10/100g overage. I have screenshots of some speedtests that were 0.xx down 0.0x up. Dial up speeds sometimes. Basically it sucks all around but it was the only thing available and I pay $120/mo for that.

Att was out about 2 years ago running new lines on the poles on my street. I've been checking occasionally to see if they brought fiber to my area. Got a flyer in the mail saying it is. I checked online and it is so I bought. 1gigabit speed AND no data cap! We're gonna be able to stream HD movies/shows and I can download more than 1-2 games a month. I can't wait. Also it's $80/mo.

Liberation day for me. The neighbors behind me finally got their 30-40 ft palm trees trimmed. Damn things start shedding thousands of seeds every year by late May and about half come over the fence and into my pool esp on windy days where they clog the skimmer and many are small enough to go through and into the sand filter. I skim as much as I can about twice a day and have to back flush to keep the system running.

They leave every summer for the coast so they have pool service and landscapers take care of their place. I have been thinking of asking them if they would mind moving up their palm trimming schedule by a few weeks but I never see them until November and always forget.

What's up?

Got the surgical splint/brace thing taken off today and the elbow incision is less then 2" across. Hand surgeon used to do plastic surgery so he used like 20 stitches in that small area. Now, I can shower without worrying about getting my arm wet.

Stitches come out in 10 more days. Then I will probably be able to do whatever I want. We won't know if the surgery was a success for as long as 3-4 months, possibly, although we could learn earlier if the problem just goes away earlier.

I have a hunch it was successful.

Palm trees near pools is definitely a bad idea...the original owners planted four tall queens and three pygmies around the pool. We had problems with the seeds dropping into the pool and clogging the skimmer and filter our first year here. Our solution was to watch for the trees to sprout their seed pods. Once they mature and start to open, cut them off.

I manage the shorter pygmy trees...just finished yesterday, trimming all the seed pods and pruning the fronds with brown tips. We hire our landscaper to climb the tall trees to remove those pods.

We live in a breezy windy region...windblown grass seeds, flower petals like bougainvillea and dandelions are another bane this time of year....during pool season, I'm out skimming a few times a week.

Morning Ram sun and others to come.

Just got word from my daughter that my SIL won the gold medal in the Firefighters National weight lifting competition in the bench press. Unfortunately, after he won, he went for a new record and tore a pec. Gonna need surgery and a long recovery.
