I would be fine letting any state secede from the union. Anything built or bought with federal tax dollars needs to be taken back or destroyed. Then new borders will exist, and those states will be foreign countries or a foreign country and be treated as such. I suppose small travel corridors should be provided to the landlocked countries to reach somewhere other than the United States. These would be for non-commercial vehicles, no planes or trains or semis and such. Since they are crossing into our country vehicles would need to be searched. Because of the civil unrest these states and their citizens have caused they should be designated terrorist countries. Along with this we will not buy goods or products from those countries, and we will not sell our goods and products to them. This would need to be fleshed out by our government with people far smarter than I. Citizens of these countries would no longer be citizens of the United States.

The New England states decide this was all a mistake. They rejoin the United Kingdom. Their taxes are immediately increased without representation.

Minnesota, Wisconsin, and metro Chicago join Canada. Guns are banned and their taxes are immediately increased. Gun violence in Chicago increases and Canada apologizes.

Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada form their own country and bring back Covid mask mandates and mandatory gender transition surgery. China invades and occupies the entire territory in three days. The new Chinese provincial governor announces there will be some changes coming. The population is thrilled because we will finally get to see socialism and communism done right.
