Another member of my extended family is on her death bed tonight. Docs are saying maybe a couple days. She's 93 yrs old and things have gone south in the past couple months so it's not a big drama shock but the finality is tough. That will make 3 people in my life that have passed away this year.

For those that know me, maybe play it safe, stop knowing me. It might save your life.

Thanks DED. Her (Anna) body is shutting down but her spirit is still alive. My sister-in-law is doing a red eye flight out here tonight. My guess is after my SIL arrives and her Mom hears her voice, she will call it quits and flat line with her kids nearby.

I'm not one that deals with death very well but, sadly, it's been getting easier this past year. With that said, I hope that I don't get callus or get used to it.

Sorry to hear this.

I believe most of us are forced to learn about death the hard way. I'm pretty sure it'll be acceptance not callous.

I appreciate and Thank You all for the thoughts and prayers. I didn't want to hijack the thread or try to make it about me. It's been a lumpy year with folks in my life passing away.

The writing has been on the wall for each of them for sometime but didn't want to accept it. When it finally happens is when reality hits and it's hard for me absorb.

As Gene said, it's acceptance. That is the part I need to do better with.

Check-in: Shoulder is coming along. On my third script for PT because it is producing notable improvements. Already had like 10 weeks and have and expect to be ready for the pool when it reopens win January.

On a more somber note, my 86-year old mom died last month after trying to fight through a hip fracture for like four months. She just reached a point where she decided to give up and went to hospice. Peace.

In attempts to try to put a positive on it, when humans get old, the body eventually gives out. The mind and spirit can't keep it going.

The spirit is stronger and it doesn't die. It will always be alive in the hearts and minds of folks that she touched physically, spiritually and emotionally.

It's been a rough year for me with the passing of folks in my life. Death is only a physical thing but their spirit still lives around us. This attitude has helped me deal with it.

My blessings go out to you, your family and your Mom. Remember she is not dead... she still lives within you and all of those that she touched.

Very sorry to hear about your mom Robert.

BP and heart rate spiked a few weeks ago. Woke up at 3am, bp was 160/100 and hr was 90-ish... sleeping.

Cardiologist did another heart cath (in the lab) 2 weeks ago. Saw something that made her want to do it again today... in the hospital.

BP is still not great, but my HR is back to 58 resting. 🤔

I dunno wtf is going on. I miss those days like 18 months ago when I never spent the night in a hospital and didn't take any meds... [frypan]
