Kids on spring break, I'm on vacation. The wife is working. Been cleaning the house, getting the kids to help, 3d printing Easter decorations and made Jambalaya for dinner!
I think I need a drink and to relax.

Good times! Love me some mtn biking. Unfortunately my knee no longer shares my sentiments.

Ram ain't here yet 8track..... but I'm up and headed out.

Yeah, I am not looking to go crazy, just the easy flowy stuff at Browns Ranch or Granite Mountain.

Taking the 7 year old biking is on pause for 6-8 weeks, though. She fell off the bed and broke her collar bone last night. Funny thing is, I did the exact same thing at her age...

OUCH! I don't know what they do for that nowadays.

True story: I was a bicycle paperboy when I was about 10 years old and always hated getting up at 4 am. One morning I was finishing up my route and nodded off for a second while going maybe 8-9 mph and ran into the back of a pick up truck. Load bang! Porch lights came on all over.

Broke my collar bone. The doctor told me there was nothing they could do and it would just heal on its own. To this day one side is twice as thick as the other.

I wrestled in high school. In one one match (119 weight class) my senior year I remember seeing the left palm of my hand out the corner of my right eye as I heard a "pop."

As it turned out ligaments or something was pulling away from my collarbone and took some bone with it. Separated shoulder and minor broken collar bone, ligament damage.

On the plus side, I got a point from the illegal move.
On the downside, I lost the match 3-2.
On the plus side, I almost beat a 2 time state champ.

I remember the nurse pulling me aside after the match. She lined my up against the wall to see if one shoulder was sagging then she tapped on the sagging shoulder/collar bone area. "Does that hurt" **** yeah... as I grimaced... That ended my high school wrestling career.

That shoulder/collarbone bothers me to this day. I can't sleep on my left side without being uncomfortable.

Moral of the story, it sucks getting old.

Too funny! It took me until my drinking days to hit a parked car with my bike...

They do the same thing now for the break as you had. A sling to make you comfortable and that's it. Heals on its own I guess.

Cutting way back. I only go 5 miles four times a week and 4 miles on the three days I go to the gym. Once every few weeks I get in a round of golf so usually only walk 2-3 miles before the round.

I'm getting kinda old ya know? 🌫

Admirable still. The tricky knee probably doesn't love the 5 miles as much as the heart does. Happy you are remaining more active than people 20 years younger.
