Nothing wrong with that, mind you ... I (and others) have noticed a big influx of new folks here in the last month or longer, and we were just wondering if that was a factor, or if many of those that frequented that forum were already here also.

Any x folks care to chime in? Come on ... don't be bashful, this is not an attempt to single anyone out, or chastise you for it.

Like I said ... I'm just curious as to where all those regulars ended up!

I got here by reading a forum in C/A. Typed in cigarbid.com an bingo here I is. Only had to read about 20 posts before some wrote the words cigarbid.com because they kept writting CB. Plus the stars and the moon where in the correct phase for me to stumble upon this hallowed ground.

I don't know how else to pose this question, but if Steve or any of the staff oppose to my mentioning it, they can pull it with no ill feelings on my part ...

I fall into this category. I never knew about this board before. A friend turned me on to cbid after x went bust and seemed like nice enough bunch. Dont post much but enjoy lurking.

I was looking for a place to buy decent cigars at good prices and found CB a little over a year ago...I don't think I checked the forum then. More recently my humidor is stuffed, can't talk the wife into buying me a new one (yet), but like to browse, so I figured I'd check out the Forum this time...now I'm here almost every day!

It's kind of hard to believe, that so far only one person came over to these boards when that 'other' BB shut-down (there, Happy Robby?)

Maybe the reason is, not many have seen this post yet ...

I do believe that something has happenned. Like a few months ago. Seems like another wave of newbies coming in.

Never heard of the other one.....was loking for a good place to buy cigars and stumbled upon this place through a link from another website.I lurked a few days and loved the banter you guys and lady have and signed up.

I stumbled across cbid a couple of months ago. I was doing a search, to find good cigar deals. One of my sidelines, is to do web searches looking for rare, or just hard to get, cigars. I find them, tag on 10%, and sell them to my local tobacconist. He has a great selection, but if a customer is looking for a particular cigar, that he doesn't have, and his regular sources don't have them, he calls me. Sorry, but I didn't even know that other site had a forum, until now that it is closed.

P.S. I am hoping my search for A.F. 858 sg works out. I may have a guy in Nashville Tn. who has several boxes. If so, I will get all I can for trades here, and to fill that order.

... there is a tobacconist out in Nevada who's got his eye out for a box of 858SG's for me.

He claims that his rep said that he can still get a couple of boxes (we'll see), and that he'll save one for me ... and give me a call when it comes in.

He told me he'd let me have it for a little over MSRP, and since it Nevada ... no sales tax ... and he will even ship it to me 'free of charge'.

I'm not holding my breath ...

I stumbelled on this place about Ahem... 3 years ago or so... since then I have bought a House added in a Walk-in Humidor..Got Married... took out a Second Morgage to cover my Cigar Expences and left the wife in charge of my Cigars and House while I deployed last year... she has done a Fantastic Job taking care of this Mess LMAO!!!!!

I've met many a great people from this site... and then those who as Nugent would put it... Ah Nevermind!!

This is interesting. I posted something about a month ago that made a refrence to x and it got yanked. But not in this case. Selective policing I guess.

I used to visit both this site and the site we can't mention. But since its closing I visit here more often. Although lately I've also been visiting Herfer's Paradise which is a non sales related BB so I think its ok for me to mention it.
