Recently, I've been curious to try flavored cigars, but I get the impression from what people say that they're absolute ****.

I've had flavored cigarillos, like Al Capones, in Rum and Cognac, and Alternativos, which I know are sweetened in addition to having flavors added.

My only experience with flavored cigars has been a rum-flavored Tatianna, which was okay but didn't really taste, and a rum-flavored Island Treasure, which was the worst supposedly hand-rolled I've ever had in my life.

Even the flavored kind made by reknowned makers like CAO and Torano never seem to sell for more than $10 on Cbids. So are flavored cigars really THAT bad?

I actually enjoy a CAO moontrance every now and then. I used to like Acids but my tastes changed as I smoked "real" cigars 🙂 Over at the CI site, they have the CAO Flavours sampler for under $20 for 12. (4 from each line) I think you'll be pleasently surprised with them.

I guess it depends on how you define "bad." I simply want a cigar to taste like a cigar. If I wanted to taste honey, rum , vanilla, chocolate, etc., I would eat some honey on toast, drink a shot of rum, try a vanilla dessert, eat a candy bar, etc. To me the flavor of anything other than tobacco in a cigar is inconsistent with why I smoke them. Doesn't necessarily mean they're BAD, just that when flavored, they're no longer cigars (by my definition) to me. Just my thoughts...

It's kinda like girly drinks. I'm mostly a bitter beer and whisky guy. But every once and awhile the time is right for a pina colada or margarita. Same goes for flavored/aromatic cigars.
