This happened monday night at my work. Yes thats an entire soda display that crashed down. And yes...there was 6 LCD flatscreen TVs in front along with speaker systems and dvd players. 4 tvs got destroyed by the impact, along with 5 dvd players and 3 speaker systems. One tv didn't break, but had pop all over it, so that one was destroyed too. Luckly no customers were harmed at the time. The display was in front of the checkstands where the books and magazines are, and it happened at around 9pm...one of our busier times. I was in the back of the store pulling a blue cart full of freight when I heard the very LOUD crash. It took almost 6 hours to clean this mess up. Needless to say the two young men who work for the soda company that set up this TALL and obviously unstable display is in alot of trouble. They were called to remove the remainder of the display. This was taken after 30 min. of cleanup. 1/3 of the display fell foward, 1/3 fell backward, and 1/3 stayed upright. 1262807.jpg

Who would even think of putting a soda display near a LCD flat-screen TV display or any electronics for that matter? That's just asking for it. Your manager should have to do laps for that one. If you're the manager - start running....

If it makes you feel better, mine usually involve someone stabbing, shooting or raping someone (allegedly, of course) a day or two before Christmas and then getting irate with the attorney because the judge refuses to let him out of jail in time to celebrate the holiday.

I think we're missing an important point here. Several broken TVs, chaos ensues, lots of pieces lying around.

Official Store Manager Person: "Froggie, how many TVs were broken?"

Ambitious Amphibian: "Six, er I mean seven, sir."

Boom. New LCD TV back at the lilly pad.

Oh I'm betting that "covered in soda so we couldn't sell it" one ended up at someone's lilly pad. 🙂

I didn't know Wal-Mart employed so many at one time. There must be no one at the registers. I think I see the greeter involved in the rubbernecking. Too bad the rest of the store is being looted. I think more than the 6 LCDs were lost.

RE# 12

Todd,

You might be right.

I can't make out the first half of the name on the shopping cart handle. All I can make out is the second word "Mart".

Does K-mart even exist anymore? They don't out here, they closed all of the ones in NorCal a few years ago and to be honest with you, I don't pay much attention to the employee uniforms (when you can actually find an employee) when I do go to Wal-Mart, and I don't remember what Kmart uniforms look like, so I just saw a blue shirt and took a guess.

7: *L* no i live in idaho. (QueenBeez's my sis btw) but whats so funny is my roommate is from northern WI and it was her camera phone that took this pic.

9: just two. an ast. mgr and a support mgr. their the ones by the teal shirt and black pants.

It was Queenbeez and Dabeez who got me hooked on cigars too. Thanks sis! I think i'm finally down to just 5. *LMAO*

-----------------------------------------------------

Yes, there is still one still in business near where I live. They were bought by/merged with Sears several years ago, if I remember correctly. They contracted significantly. I believe you can even Craftsman tool products there now. But in the end, IMHO, WalMart will end-up killing them...
