That was a long time ago...we all can change quite a bit after that much time...

Ya know if we all were to have our past affect the fact of whether or not we would draw a breath tomorrow moring then there would be alot of rank stinking bodies laying around by Noon. I feel pretty safe in saying that it is VERY Rare to know or know of a person that has never ever done or said ANY THING wrong or that they shouldn't have done or said.. What I'm trying to say If every One on earth right were Totally Honest there isn't a one of us that hasn't at one time or another done or said some thing that we regret after the fact. Dang it was 26 years ago He he said all that. My Gosh 26 years.. We have a pretty darn Poor country when all we can do is sit around and Put other People down for some thing that they said 26 years ago when it wasn't any thing that harmed any one but him That is if he really did any of it to begin with.. It;s so sad when all we have to do is sit around and pick some one apart and look for faults.. Thats a big part of what is wrong with this country. If people would start looking for the good in others and then let them prove at that time they aren't worth it things would go alot better and we would have all that energy to put in to some thing else. If it bothers you what some said or did 26 years ago that bad then it's easy Don't vote for them..Sorry it;s late and I don't mean to sound like I'm looking for a Fight because I'm Not.. It's just that I think we some times Look to hard for some thing bad in a person instead of using half of that energy in looking for some thing Good... TinMan..

Arnold pales in comparison to say...Clinton. Clinton AND his "wife" LIED to the American public during the course of their now infamous 60 Minute show where he was still a back running candidate. Now if America only knew about the trail of "bimbos" and Mena, AK I really doubt Billy would've been a 1 or even 2 term President. Oh, I'm sure there are people that would've voted for him, but I think more would've voted for Perot if they knew about his "baggage"!

Now Arnold steps up to the plate and has his past examined beyond all scrutinity. Nevermind the fact that he's been happily married to the same woman and raised fabulous kids. He's devoted and passionate to the needs of special kids(which probably came from Maria's side of the family!)and to physical fitness. Who wouldn't want to look like Arnold?

It's a laughable statement to dredge up somebody's past and try to discredit them for public office when there's murderers,theives, miscreants,and adulterers in almost every orfice of public service! Byrd,Kennedy,Barry,Clinton, and let's not forget the ones that didn't make it...Duke,Janklow,Hart. This was just a smear campaign. An attempt to quiet Californian's voices from being heard. Gray Davis will be recalled. Who they voted for should be their own business.

I don't know that he's been so well examined...I don't live in California, but has he explained his defense of and ongoing friendship with Kurt Waldheim? Waldheim was a friggin' Nazi! Arnold seems to get a pass. People love his movies. I wonder how the conservatives on this board would react to a liberal candidate with Arnold's past...or even one with his positions on homosexuality, abortion, etc.

I guess people love his movies. Ultimately, I agree that one should not be dragged down by one's past. But conservatives have long held non-conservatives to their pasts in election cycles, so I was curious to hear responses to Schzngr's past. There is so much more that just isn't getting press.

JJohnson...are you stalking me? At CW, I talk and read about Cuban cigars. (I am a serious cigar smoker, after all, not just a political debator). They don't do politics there anyway. But I do have two questions for you and would appreciate a response: 1) please explain where I have 'whined.' I register dissatisfaction, frustration, and outrage. But I fail to see my 'whining.' Explain or quit the b.s. Or is that just an uncreative attempt at 'flaming' me? 2) You've been following my posts around for months, heaving random insults at me...my question: do you plan on ever responding to an ISSUE that I raise? Or do you prefer to remain a name-calling child?

I suspect the latter, but would love to be proven otherwise.

I ask only because it seems you delight in the constant tear down of individuals. While you make the comment that noone should be dragged down by one's past I find it disgusting that you tie his morals(not his actions)to his past. In the 3 classes that I've had on Philosophy all of the professors(2 held the title of doctor)NEVER ripped on individuals and their ideas. If anything was brought out it was open dialogue on someone's viewpoint.

Ethically I find it contemptible that a person with your background behaves in this constant manner. You're not at a loss of words to tell everyone about your background and obviously its something you're proud of, but in my opinion your words ring hollow. You like to have things both ways when its convient for YOU. You've stated that your students even pervade this site. I'm shocked that you would display a one-sided view of an individual while trying to maintain some type of "high ground" to preach down to what you perceive as peons.

Like any subject, I'm sure that there might be some "new" way of getting the matter across to the students, but I don't think you succeed here. That is why I constantly ask the question. Not to hold you accountable, but out of disgust and disbelief to your education.

He insulted my wife (who is not a cbid person, innocent to all of this b.s.) and then tried to sabatoge my career by emailing my boss. You, by the way, commended him for this publicly. Says a lot about YOUR character, methinks.

jdrabinski, I'm pretty new here. So I dont know everyone very well. But, I was wondering why every post you make lately, regardless of the topic, you end up bringing mike/mag into the discussion. He must have really got you good or something, for this to have become an obsession.

I'm not going to bother with searches or anything. I'm not quite that interested in the story. But, I must say, he must have got your panties in a twist pretty good if it happened in mid June and you are obviously still very much bothered by it.

It is not a case of 'panties in a wad'; it was serious stuff that went way beyond this board and ended with him trying to sabatoge my career. That is a very real issue, so don't be so flip about it...or at least know what is going on before you act like a smartass.
