Does anyone know of a website where I can learn about fake cubans, or how to spot them.

"Tony" here is a link for you to check out BUT don't just rely on what they have , Experince has taught me that there are many more fakes out there than what they tell or show you in this link and There are people out there that are doing every thing they can to sell you fakes and get your Money. It's so bad any more that a Honest person can be made to look dishonest in a heart beat.. I guess the only real way to protect you're self is to find some one who has dealt with the REAL STUFF for years and has made a contact that can be trusted and then use them.. Sadly that leaves us open to paying inflated prices and never getting a Great deal because your paying for that security of knowing you are getting a For God Real ISOM...IMVHO many of the so called ISOM"S are OVER RATED today any how. Don't get me wrong there are some out there that are OUT OF THIS WORLD but alot of them aren't any better than what we have available to us right here.. But thats just a thought from some one who is only looking for a Great Cigar at a price I can live with. I have never tasted hype that tasted worth a darn , but a good $5-$10 Cigar leaves a pretty good taste in your mouth most of the time..Just some rambilings.. heres that site..TinMan

I agree with tinman, at least somewhat. Cuban cigars have a very distinct taste and some are very very good. I can safely say that there are more non-cuban cigars that I like than Cubans, but there are also alot more Non-Cuban cigars. On the other hand once you find a great seller, some cubans can be bought for half of what you'd pay for an OPUS X!!! I do belive people have overrated Cubans, by this I mean that I have never smoked a $30 Cuban worth $30, but then again IMHO I don't think any smoke is worth that kind of money.
If you have a chance to experience Cuban cigars, please do so, they are an experience, talk to people who have them, ask questions to fit your taste and once you've smoked a cuban that you've liked, then asked those same people where you could find an honest and resonable seller, hey this is the way I did it. "Coma" Don't get me wrong I have had some Cubans that were really good I guess it is just all those Fake makers out there that have really dishearntend me. I just don't think it should be so hard to buy a (Real) Cigar from the (Real) maker with out all the expence of the Fake Makers out there. I enjoy sitting with a Great Cigar and savoring every little bit of it , but when it's so hard to get the realy special stuff it takes so much of the enjoyment out of it..And I believe that One day the embargo will be lifted and when that day comes I think that after the Fake producers are started to be weeded out we can all set and enjoy a Good Cuban If they can get thier fields back to producing top Tobacco again and The art of making them hasn't vanished by then , I also think we will see a more afordable price. (I hope)..But I also agree with what you had to say about it , mostly..Tin

Do a search of the boards ... there have been a lot of threads on the subject ...

Also, try CigarNexus ... they have one of the best guides to Cuban cigars I've ever seen ...
